Oats are an odd object appearing many times throughout the series, mainly as a minor background character, generally seen as an easter egg / joke among fans.

The most commonly used visual design for the oats features them with red sides, a tiny sliver of red on top with mostly tan, no colour seeable on back, and a front featuring a yellow part on top with blue on bottom, the dividing line being quite curvy. The top has blue text saying "OATS!" With a white comic-book-style bubble on the right. The bottom features a white bowl with a single blue stripe on it on bottom filled with oats, as oats are seemingly falling down into the bowl from offscreen.
